Dolcezza Custom Cakes - Best Cakes in the GTA!

This past weekend we had a PARRRTY at our house - we were in full out celebration mode with A.C.'s 1st birthday and my Mom's 50th birthday being 3 days apart.  Since both birthday were milestone birthdays I wanted to make sure that everything was extra special for the celebrations!
We were all set with invitations, decorations, yummy food including JAM's famous ribs... but what about the CAKE?!?  That was one task I was going to have to delegate to the professionals, and so my hunt began for a special 1st Birthday Cake...

I came across Dolcezza Custom Cakes and was amazed by all of the beautiful cakes in their gallery, and oh the flavours they had to choose from made my mouth water.
Dolcezza Custom Cakes is based in Brampton, but also services Caledon, Mississauga, Toronto and surrounding areas.  From the very first email I sent I received excellent customer service and helpful advice in selecting and designing the cakes for the party.  Kristina, the owner, was great to work with - professional, creative, and was able to turn my garbled thoughts into gorgeous works of art that were (almost) too pretty to eat.  Kristina went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our order, and she didn't even bat an eye when I called her up 3 days before the event to add a second cake to our order for my mom's birthday.


So what did the cakes look like?  Here they are!

For A.C's cake the inspiration came from primary colours - our theme for the party.  I am a chocolate lover while JAM prefers vanilla, so to satisfy both our cravings we went with a 2 tiered cake.  The top tier was Vanilla Dream - a decadent vanilla cake filled with tasty vanilla butter cream icing.  The bottom tier was Chocolate Sensation - and it did not disappoint!  Moist chocolate cake with a chocolate icing that was not too rich, not too light, just perfect.  The inside of the cake was practically as pretty as the outside with 4 layers of cake filled with icing.  Normally I am not a big fondant fan, because it can taste kind of waxy and chewy.  But this fondant - was the best I have ever had!!!  Sweet, soft, and tasty - a HUGE accomplishment in my books.

We also wanted a smaller cake in recognition of my Mom's 50th birthday and Dolcezza Custom Cakes had just the thing!  A 5" mini cake surrounded by 9 cupcakes.  But these are just not any cupcakes... these are the most scrumptious cupcakes FILLED with the icing of your choice! For this cake we selected chocolate cake with a raspberry buttercream - and Oh My God I am going to be dreaming of the raspberry buttercream for weeks to come, it was smooth and flavourful!!!  This was one of the best cakes I have EVER had (and I have tried a lot of cakes!).

At $35 for the "Daisy Cake" is a great value, and you can choose from any of the cake/filling combinations available from Dolcezza cakes to find the perfect one for you.  This cake would be perfect for an office gathering, night out with the girls, or small birthday party.  I know I will be ordering another one shortly for an upcoming birthday celebration.
